TraxInSpace review for the song "Cloudberry" by Sergeisergeievich ======================================== Reviewer: Slammin Vinyl Date of Review: 12/23/1999 6:16:00 PM Overall Impression: 5/10 Review: The beginning to this song, is very flat, and needs alot more work...The beat isn't bad, but the instruments used are not the best. The song is VERY 80's style, the electric synths style is definatly there for sure. One of the main things missing from this song is chord changes....there are two chords used throughout the whole duration of the song, and it makes it sound very repetitive. I do, however, like the high pitched synth samples, and the overall idea of the song, is not that bad. The bass sample is too harsh though, and it is too much like a melody, rather than a bass. Overall, the song is average, and would have benefitted from some implementation of different chord changes, and a significant melody. Creativity: 4/10 Creativity Comment: Very nice bassline, shame that its more of a melody, than the actual melody instruments. Needs alot more variance than it has though...there is very little change throughout the song, and that terribly lets it all down. Artistic License: 6/10 Artistic License Comment: Nice build ups, and the minimal stereo seems to suit the song well. Good 80's feel to it. Arrangement: 7/10 Arrangement Comment: Flows good enough. The artist 'CAN' track music, it just needs more variance. Sample Quality: 6/10 Sample Quality Comment: Average samples. Does It Work as a Piece of Music: Yes Does It Work as Music Comment: Yes it works, but need more work on variety to be able to impress. ========================================
